I Know I am probably re-visiting a theme here......
......I am talking about CHEAP wedding photography, it was prompted when I saw an advert for wedding photography for £259!!
I know that planning a wedding is a very expensive time and I know it usually comes at a time when other things need paying for. Everybody (apart from maybe a handful of people worldwide) has a budget and whatever that budget is, you try to work within it to ensure that your big day is a happy memory instead of a catalyst for debt. Again whatever your budget is - this is a very important part of choosing your photographer, however it shouldn't be THE reason to choose your photographer.
This is one of the biggest days of your life and you are probably taking months to plan it, from venue to dress, entertainment to food, your photography is the only part of your big day that is left after the flowers have wilted and your dress has been packed away. Please, please do not use the photography as an easy way of cutting down your budget. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is probably most fitting for your photography on your big day.
Do I think you'll get a couple of nice shots from a package priced at the above amount? Sure you will - I have no doubt that you will get "a couple of nice shots" but is that really what you want as your first family heirloom? No - of course not. You want a true representation of your special day and unique products that fit you, your lifestyle and your surroundings.
I know that I am not everybody's choice as a wedding photographer and I may not fit everybody's budget, BUT I do know that the people that use my services are looking for something a little bit special, I know that my clients are looking for that something extra that they haven't found elsewhere and that they understand that the budget, although important, is not the reason that they have chosen us.
My advice is - Talk to the photographer that you are considering booking and ask what he/she will be able to do for your budget. Get the person/people you want first and then try and figure out the money!!
If you have found a photographer that are using their price as a reason to book them, you have to ask yourself, why are they focusing on a low price as apposed to quality products and service to get their work!? - Just a thought!!
